Living culture and memory
According to oral recollections, the founder of the selo may have been the hunter Mikhail Zimarev from the selo of Stukovo; locals tried to find his relatives. The memorial to fallen fellow villagers was created following a 1965 decision with funds from sovkhoz workers and employees, designed by sculptor Yuri Akimov, and opened on 9 May 1974; residents gather there every Victory Day. Among notable figures is Serafim Ilyich Lipkov (1925–2025), the last Great Patriotic War veteran in Kalman District, awarded the Order of the Red Star, two Orders of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, and the Order of the October Revolution. In 2018 the selo celebrated its 118th anniversary, and a school anniversary and a district festival of national cultures were also held, where a Tatar national costume was presented; the school museum room preserves tools and household utensils. The song “Zimarevskie Prostory,” written in the early 1970s by former club head Mikhail Vasilievich Novozheev, became the hymn of the selo. Russian cuisine is represented in the food culture.
