Selektsionnoye
The village of Selektsionnoye, founded in 1949 in the Altai Krai, emerged as a base for an experimental agricultural farm and is today part of the Slavgorod urban okrug.

A historical photograph, village view, landscape, or related heritage object will be displayed here at a later date.
Historical background
The settlement was founded in 1949 as a state farm (sovkhoz) division; initially, its population was predominantly Ukrainian, and Germans also lived here. The development of the village is closely linked to the work of the Slavgorod selection station and the state farm-technical school, where agricultural students undertook their practical training. In 1964, the "Pogranichny" state farm was created on the basis of the experimental station, and in 1965 the Selektsionny rural council was formed, which existed until 1993. A.V. Podolsky, an Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, was born and worked in the village. In 2025, the infrastructure was expanded with a new modern medical and obstetric center with an area of 100 sq. m.

Historical and cultural legacy
The Memorial of Glory, created in 1967, and the mass grave of Great Patriotic War soldiers located in the park, where the remains of 146 people were reburied in 1953, hold the status of regional historical monuments. The village operates a secondary general education school (transformed from an eight-year school in 1979), a rural library with a collection of local history and agricultural literature, and a branch of the rural house of culture. The school hosts a historical and local lore museum, preserving authentic frontline items, Red Army books, and the documentation of the selection station from 1938–1962.
Natural surroundings
The village is located near district water bodies—Lake Burlinskoye (Burlinskoye ozero) with its highly mineralized water and the slightly saline Lake Kulunda. The settlement itself has a culture park.

Club formations and activity groups operate at the rural house of culture. Students of the local school hold patronage over the historical monument at the soldiers' mass grave. In 2024, residents jointly implemented a project to equip a children's playground and celebrated the 95th anniversary of the settlement's founding.
