Place, memory, heritage
Historical and cultural legacy
The memorial to fellow villagers who fell in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945) is located at Shkolnaya Street, 45a. The monument was installed in 1996 on a hill sown with lawn grass: a soldier's head in a helmet is mounted on a white concrete pedestal, with an inscription bearing the dates 1941–1945 below; slabs with the names of fallen fellow villagers are laid on the elevated ground, a staircase provides access, and the monument is enclosed by a decorative steel fence. The site is a monument of history of regional significance (registration number 221610467180005), placed under state protection by Resolution No. 94 of the Altai Krai Soviet of People's Deputies dated 2 April 2001.
Natural surroundings
Near the Zagainovo siding, on the right bank of the Borovlyanka River (a left tributary of the Bolshaya Rechka), 3.9 km southwest of the settlement, lies the holy spring of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker (Nikolsky Spring). The spring is equipped and capped, with a gravity-fed outflow; a canopy with a cross is installed over the well, and the descent is fitted with a staircase and boardwalk. The water is clean, transparent, odourless, pleasant to taste, and the flow rate is above average. Silver coins from 1878 and a copper five-kopeck piece from 1889 were found in the spring, indicating that people have visited it for at least the past two centuries. During the Soviet period, a livestock farm was located here, and milk flasks were kept in the cold spring water. On the opposite bank of the river, 1 km to the north, is the settlement of Lesnoy.

The prevalent religious tradition is Orthodoxy; the gastronomic culture is represented by Russian cuisine.
