Historical background
Founded in 1768 (according to other sources, in 1786) on the Angurep River, the village of Popovichevskaya remained small for a long time. Massive settlement occurred during the agrarian reform thanks to peasants from the western regions of Russia. In 1928, the village consisted of 591 households with a predominantly Russian population and served as the center of the rural council. In 1958, on the site of a wooden church that operated until 1936, the foundation was laid for a village club, which opened in 1962.
