Historical background
In 1886, the Nikolaev brothers from Taurida settled near the steppe lake Malye Sekachi, and the official year of the village's formation is considered to be 1906, when settlers from Belarus arrived here, later joined by Ukrainian families. During the Great Patriotic War, the farm was drained of blood by the mobilization of residents into the labor army, but in 1957 the "Pobeda" collective farm was created from the collective farms named after Chapaev and Chkalov with its center in Nikolaevka. During the heyday of the collective farm, an urban-type House of Culture, a sports complex, a brick factory, a hospital, and a water pipeline were built, and in the late 1990s a Lutheran church was erected. The emigration of 1991–1992 led to the fact that by 2021 about 20% of the German population remained in the village.
