Historical background
The village was founded by settlers from the Kuznetsk department by order of the Mining Administration Chancellery: in November 1775, they received permission to resettle, and in 1776 they populated the new village. In 1795, there were 33 male souls. In 1798, junior mining officer Ivan Kolychev described the village lands: 2,231 desyatinas of arable land, 457 desyatinas of hayfield, and 1,144 desyatinas of unusable land. In 1882, there were 43 households. In 1926, the village of Krasnoyary had 136 households and 778 residents (365 men and 413 women); the ethnic composition was predominantly Russian; a first-stage school operated; the village was the centre of the Krasnoyarsky selsoviet in Yaminsky District, Biysk Okrug, Siberian Krai. In 1922, the first party cell was organized; secretary Mitrofan Nikolayevich Smetannikov and his deputy Dmitry Ustinovich Tikhonov worked to strengthen Soviet power. The Yeryominsky selsoviet has existed in its current boundaries since 1917. As of 1 April 2026, the population is 675. A notable figure is Gennady Ivanovich Kolykhalov, chief agronomist of the kolkhoz "Veliky Oktyabr" (Great October) in Krasnoyary (1963–2002), Hero of Socialist Labour (1988), laureate of the T. S. Maltsev Prize, and honorary citizen of Troitsky District; under his leadership, the kolkhoz received seed-farming status and supplied wheat and winter rye seeds to many enterprises in the krai.
