Historical background

The settlement was founded in 1825 on the bank of the Maly Bekhtemir river by Efim Fedorovich Bochkarev, a peasant from the Kursk governorate, and by 1858 it had grown to 114 households. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, peasants from the Tobolsk, Chernigov, Poltava, and other governorates massively resettled here, and the first school opened in 1903. Soviet power was established in 1920, the "Vpered" collective farm was soon formed, and in 1938 a machine and tractor station appeared, on the basis of which a mechanization school was created in 1959. During the Great Patriotic War, over 500 villagers went to the front, and 195 of them died, including Hero of the Soviet Union D.I. Shkurat. In 1981, on the initiative of the collective farm chairman Nikolay Andreyevich Kozlenkov, the construction of a plant began, which in the 21st century became an engine of development: new microdistricts, sports complexes, and educational institutions are being built in the village, and by 2030 it is planned to increase the population to 2,500 people. A significant contribution to the modernization of the enterprise and the development of the social sphere is made by executives Vadim Petrovich Smagin and Petr Nikolayevich Smagin.

Historical and cultural legacy

Material heritage and social infrastructure include the Bochkarevskaya secondary school named after D.I. Shkurat, a professional lyceum, a kindergarten, an outpatient clinic, as well as major sports facilities: a year-round ice arena, the Sport Life sports complex, and a wellness center. Located on the territory of the village are a historical monument of regional significance — a memorial to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, a monument to the founder of the plant N.A. Kozlenkov, and the new Church of Martyr Sophia and Prophet Elijah, built on the site of the destroyed historical church and consecrated in 2017.

02

Natural surroundings

The natural resources of the village include reserves of underground water extracted from production wells for drinking water supply and the operational needs of the plant, as well as natural gas supplied in 2025. Next to the House of Culture, a landscaped recreational area with greenery, occupying about 4,000 square meters, has been operating since 2022.

Living culture and memory

Every year, the village hosts a large-scale unified celebration called "Bochkarevskoye podvorye," combining Village Day and the Day of the Plant's Foundation. Sporting traditions are supported by regular competitions at various levels, and the local House of Culture is home to the vocal group "Rodnye napevy," the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Bochkari," and the fashion theater "Irina."
